Somewhere on the outskirts of Rome you hear the sound of a ball hitting a rusty metal net that merges with the cracked curses of the barely mutated voices of a whole generation that grows up around the streets of the local stadium. Poverty and unemployment have forced the younger generation to quickly learn how to survive. Despite all their shortcomings, there is an incredible amount of beauty, talent and ambition that young people there carry no matter what life has taken from them. After all playing soccer requires courage and willpower far more than it does a pair of legs.
